Notice of Public Meeting for SH 114 from International Parkway to Riverside Drive in Dallas and Tarrant Counties

Where and When:
A virtual public meeting will be held at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/state-highways/sh-114. The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024 and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2024.
An in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience. The in-person meeting will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Marriott Dallas Las Colinas Hotel, Hudson/Kit/Williams meeting room, 223 West Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, TX 75039. Free parking is available in the adjacent hotel parking garage.
Materials presented at the virtual public meeting and in-person public meeting will be identical.
All comments must be postmarked or received by May 31, 2024.
Description:
The purpose of the public meeting is to update the public on project progress in an open house format. TxDOT will update the public on overall project status, design refinements and details and future construction schedule.
The proposed improvements consist of widening 7.1 miles of SH 114 from International Parkway to Riverside Drive located within the cities of Irving and Grapevine, Dallas and Tarrant counties, Texas. The design changes proposed for this project include widening from East of Rochelle Boulevard to State Spur 348 from 4 to 6 general purpose lanes and reconstructing the 2 concurrent managed lanes. The proposed design changes to this project from State Spur 348 to International Parkway would include widening from 6 to 8 general purpose lanes and reconstructing 2 concurrent managed lanes from State Spur 348 to SH 161 and constructing 2 concurrent managed lanes from SH 161 to International Parkway. This project would also reconstruct/widen the existing 4/6 to 4/8 continuous frontage roads from east of Rochelle Boulevard to Beltline Road and from Esters Road to Freeport Parkway and reconstruct/widen existing 2-lane frontage road from Beltline Road to Esters Road. This project would also include reconstruction/relocation and adjustments to highway access ramps, direct connectors, and auxiliary lanes. The proposed improvements would include a 10-foot wide shared use path on both sides of SH 114 for bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. The existing right-of-way width ranges from 300 to 680 feet along the roadway and the proposed right-of-way width ranges from 330 to 690 feet. At intersections, existing and proposed right-of-way width ranges from 600 to 1,500 feet.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
