Merritt Road from PGBT to Chiesa Road - Notice of Virtual Public Meeting with In-Person Option

Where and When
A virtual public meeting will be held at https://www.rowletttx.gov/980/Public-Bulletin-Board. The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. and will remain online for at least 15 days.
An in-person public hearing will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience. The in-person option will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rowlett Community Centre, Room B, at 5300 Main St., Rowlett, TX 75088. Materials presented at the virtual public hearing and in-person public hearing will be identical.
All comments must be received on or before Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Purpose
The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input and provide information.
Description
The proposed project involves the construction of a new roadway to connect the existing Merritt Road with Liberty Grove Road. The project would extend approximately 0.6 miles from east of the intersection of Merritt Road and President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) to the intersection of Chiesa Road and Liberty Grove Road. A 10-foot-wide shared-use path would be constructed on both sides of the roadway. The existing right-of-way (ROW) width on Liberty Grove Road ranges from 60 to 115 feet, and the proposed ROW width on Merritt Road would range from 100 to 110 feet. Subject to final design considerations, the proposed project would require approximately 5.4 acres of proposed ROW.
