Notice of Public Meeting for FM 407 from Bill Cook Road to FM 1830 in Denton County

Where and When:

A virtual public meeting will be held at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/FM407DentonCounty.  The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023 and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on April 11, 2023.

An in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience.  The in-person meeting will be held on Monday, March 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gene Pike Middle School Cafeteria, 2200 Texan Drive, Justin, TX  76247

Materials presented at the virtual public meeting and in-person public meeting will be identical.

All comments must be postmarked or received by Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Description:

The project proposes to widen the existing 2-lane rural, undivided roadway to a 6-lane, urban divided facility for approximately 11.5 miles along FM 407 in Denton County, TX.  The project would include pedestrian and bike accommodations.  The existing right of way (ROW) varies from 80 to 90 feet.  The proposed ROW varies along the corridor and is generally 140 feet wide.  

Special Accommodations:

The virtual public meetings and in-person options will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact  the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Officer at (214) 320-4480 no later than 4 p.m., March 22, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
