Notice of Public Meeting for FM 429 and US 80 Intersection Improvements in Kaufman County

Where and When:

A virtual public meeting will be held at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/FM429.  The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2023 and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on April 21, 2023.

An in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience.  The in-person meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Herman Furlough Jr. Middle School Cafeteria, 1351 Colquitt Rd, Terrell, TX  75160.

Materials presented at the virtual public meeting and in-person public meeting will be identical.

All comments must be postmarked or received by Friday, April 21, 2023.

Description:

The proposed improvements include construction of a new-location four-lane urban minor arterial roadway with left turn lanes at US 80 and north and south connector roads.  US 80 would be reconstructed to include left turn lanes and a raised median at the proposed intersection with FM 429.  A portion of the project is located within the City of Terrell.

Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
