Notice of Public Meeting for FM 740/FM 548 from I-20 to FM 1641 in Kaufman County

Where and When:

A virtual public meeting will be held at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/fm-roads/FM740FM548.  The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2023.

An in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience.  The in-person meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 11 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Forney High School Cafeteria, 1800 College Avenue, Forney, TX  75126. 

Materials presented at the virtual public meeting and in-person public meetings will be identical.

All comments must be received on or before July 26, 2023.

Description:

The proposed project includes reconstruction and widening of FM 740/FM 548 from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane divided urban roadway with raised medians, curb and gutter, a bridge widening at the Mustang Creek crossing and a 10-foot-wide shared-use path on both sides of the road for approximately 4.04 miles.  The roadway passes through the cities of Mesquite and Forney.

Special Accommodations:

The virtual public meeting and in-person options will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Officer at (214) 320-4480 no later than 4 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
