Description:

The US 377 proposed improvements include roadway improvements from SH 114 to south of FM 1171 including widening of a 2-lane arterial roadway to a 4-lane divided arterial roadway for 3.4 miles. The purpose of the project is to provide capacity and safety enhancements along the corridor in the form of a standard 4-lane divided urban section with raised medians, curbs, sidewalks, and shared-use paths.  A major component of this corridor upgrade will be the addition of lanes and pedestrian facilities within the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) floodplain where US 377 bridges cross the Denton Creek area north of Roanoke in two locations. This will be the final project to provide these uniform enhancements to the US 377 corridor as the highway limits to the north and south of this project have already been completed or will soon go to construction.  The roadway passes through the City of Roanoke and the Town of Flower Mound.
