FM 35 - Notice of Virtual Public Meeting with In-Person Option

Where and When

A virtual public meeting will be held at https://www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/fm-roads/fm35. The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at 5 p.m. and will remain online for at least 15 days.

An in-person public hearing will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience.  The in-person option will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fellowship Church, 900 Pullen St, Royse City, Texas 75189. Materials presented at the virtual public hearing and in-person public hearing will be identical.

All comments must be received on or before Friday, Sept. 4, 2026.

Purpose

The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input and provide information.

Description

The proposed project includes the reconstructing of and widening of FM 35 from IH 30 to FM 2642 approximately 1.7 miles long. The proposed project would reconstruct the existing two-lane roadway to six 11- to 12-foot-wide travel lanes with curb and gutter and a raised median from IH 30 to FM 2453, and four 12-foot-wide travel lanes with curb and gutter and a raised median from FM 2453 to FM 2642. There would be left turn lanes at East Old Greenville Road, Joe Bailey Street, Parkfield Road, Gardenia Drive, Creekside Drive/ FM 2453, Preston Road, and Chestnut Court. A continuous 10-foot-wide shared-use path would be constructed along both sides of the roadway.

The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas Department of Transportation to arrange.
