FM 460 from US 80 to FM 740 and FM 740 from Ranch Road to north of Maverick Drive
CSJs: 2249-01-009 and 1091-01-023
Kaufman County, Texas

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Kaufman County are proposing to improve Farm-to-Market Road (FM) 460 from FM 740 to US 80, and FM 740 from Ranch Road to north of Maverick Drive in Kaufman County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT is affording an opportunity for a public hearing on the proposed project.

The proposed project would reconstruct and widen FM 460 between US 80 and FM 740, and FM 740 between Ranch Road and Maverick Drive in the city of Forney, Kaufman County from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane (ultimate six-lane) divided roadway. A continuous 6-foot-wide sidewalk would be built on one side of the roadway and a continuous 10-foot-wide shared-use path on the other side. The existing FM 460 and FM 740 right-of-way (ROW) width is approximately 90 feet wide throughout the length of the project. The proposed ROW width is 120 to 215 feet wide. The overall project length would be approximately 5 miles.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potentially displace one residence and one non-residential structure. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT Dallas District office by calling 214-320-6675.

The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands.

The proposed project would involve an action in a floodplain.
