Purpose

The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input and provide information.

Description

The proposed project would reconstruct and widen FM 545 in stages based on traffic volumes and available funding. Initial construction would consist of four travel lanes (two in each direction) with a grass median and would be widened to the inside once warranted by traffic. The project would ultimately consist of six 12-foot-wide travel lanes (three in each direction) with a raised median ranging from six to 24 feet wide. A 10-foot-wide shared-use-path would be constructed along both sides of the roadway except on the eastbound side from FM 2933 to Greer Way, where the project would tie into existing six-foot-wide sidewalks, and on the eastbound side from Greer Way to CR 416, where a six-foot-wide sidewalk would be constructed or tie into the existing sidewalks. At the eastern terminus, the proposed project would tie into a separate project (CSJ: 1012-02-043) at the intersection of FM 545 and CR 416, where the roadway would be realigned to provide smoother horizontal curves. Improvements at the intersection of SH 121 and FM 545 would include the reconstruction of right turn lanes, medians, sidewalks, and shared-use-paths. Proposed drainage would consist of curb and gutter throughout the project limits. The proposed right-of-way (ROW) would vary in width throughout the project from approximately 130 to 211 feet.
