Notice of Public Meeting for FM 407 Feasibility Study from US 81/287 to Bill Cook Road in Denton and Wise Counties

Where and When:

A virtual public meeting will be held at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/FM407FS. The virtual meeting is not a live event and can be viewed at any time beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. and will remain available online through 11:59 p.m. on March 21, 2023.

An in-person public meeting will be held in an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience.  The in-person meeting will be held on Monday, March 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at HOPE Church, 333 Illinois Street, Rhome, TX  76078.

Materials presented at the virtual public meeting and in-person public meeting will be identical.

All comments must be received on or before March 21, 2023.

Description:

The purpose of the feasibility study is to analyze potential roadway options to improve FM 407, including improving the existing alignment or utilizing new alignments.  Alignment options could require additional right of way to accommodate the project.  The proposed study would potentially involve construction in wetlands and an action in a floodplain.

Special Accommodations:

The virtual public meetings and in-person options will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact  the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Officer at (214) 320-4480 no later than 4 p.m., March 1, 2023. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
